Stunning DIY Wood Picture Holder Supply List
- Wood board – I cut my wood boards off an extra wood board I had laying around ( It is a foot wide and 2 inches thick). Length can be as long or as short as you want.
- Spray Paint – I went with the color black
- Scissors
- Twine – thickness is up to you and how big you want the twine.
- elastic hair ties
- Sand Paper
For your convenience I put together an all in one shopping list. Note that on this shopping list I did include the wood boards that would work for this project ( If you don’t have wood laying around like I did). I also put two types of twine in the shopping cart depending on what type you would like to try. The supplies in the shopping cart will make 6 DIY Picture Frame Holders. So, this would be great for a small get together for a ladies craft day! Click here to go to the shopping cart:
DIY Wood Picture Holder Shopping ListStep by Step Directions
- Cut your wood board to size. If you purchased from the shopping list above this is already done for you – go ahead and start with step 2.
- Spray Paint your wood board and let dry.
- Lightly sand your board. You don’t want to take off all the paint, just give it a warn look. ( This step is not necessary- only if you want the rustic warn style)
- Cut your twine. To get a good length wrap your twine around your board and cut where they meet.
- Cut your hair tie in half.
- Tie one end of twine and one end of the hair tie together.
- Wrap the twine around the board
- Tighten the twine as much as possible around the board and tie the other end of the hair tie to the other end of the twine – tie as tightly as possible.
- Repeat steps 4-8 for as many strings you want for your DIY Picture Holder board. ( I did 6)
- Add your photos!
Let’s Wrap it up
I mean seriously how cute is this photo holder?!It’s simple but creative. You can customize it how however you want for your home style. Change the color the twine to make it more elegant or more rustic. You can add wall hangers to the back to hang it to your wall instead of placing it on a table. Honestly, this simple piece can match any home decor. I styled mine to fit my farmhouse style home and currently have it displayed in my entryway.
