Directions

1. Take the foam cone and wrap about 3/4 of it in felt (from bottom to top as pictured below:

Foam cone

2. Cut a sheet of felt at the corner diagonal to make a large triangle. Fold and hot glue the opposite edges of the triangle together ( to make a cone shape for the top of the hat)

3..Use the black felt and cut out a water drop shape (or circle) for the base of the hat.. Use the bottom of the foam cone as a guide. You want the circular portion just as big or bigger then the bottom of the foam cone.

4. Once you have the base of the hat cut out fold it in half and cut a small circle in the base so it fits over the foam cone as pictured:

5. Hot glue the base of the hat (circular or tear drop shaped portion) to the foam cone and put the top of the hat over the foam cone and hot glue the top of the hat to the base also.

6. Use the lace to decorate the witches hat. Wrap and hot glue lace around the seam where the base and the top of the hat meet.

Tip:

Note: hot glue turns white when dry. Be careful how much hot glue you use and try to only glue the lace in place where the bow and spider will be placed on either side of the witches hat (see below).

7. Tie some lace in a bow and glue to one side of the witches hat.

8. Glue 8 small grey yarn strings to a pompom. 4 on each side to make a spider. Hot glue to the opposite side of the witches hat.

10. Glue a pompom just under the base of the hat for the nose

11. Use the lace and wrap it around the body of the witch like a cape and hot glue each end to the body of the witch

12. Loop twine ( 3 times) around the dowel rod where the twine and dowel rod overlap. Hot glue in place. (as pictured above)
