Hi Friends! Welcome to my first DIY tutorial video post – DIY Tin Can Lanterns – Make today! These turned out so good, and I am so excited to share this tutorial with you. They add so much character to any decor space and are fun to make. So let’s get started!
Items Needed for DIY Tin Can Lanterns- Make Today
- Tin can – You can use any size you would like, but I used two extra large corn cans that I got at Costco. I have also seen these large cans at my local grocery store, so don’t worry you can still get these extra large cans if you don’t have a Costco membership.
- Wire or a hanger– I used 19 gauge picture frame wire worked perfect. I was going to use a metal hanger but I wanted something more pliable for my lantern handles.
- Nail polish remover– extra strength with acetone
- Scissors
- Spray Paint– Quick Dry. I used black, but color choice is your preference. I found the black paint contrasts really well with the candle light and you can really see your design well when it’s finished.
- Drill and varying sized drill bits (made for metal use)
- Needle nose pliers
- Wire cutters
- Sand paper and/or sander– only if you want to sand down any rough edges.
- Candle(s)
- Printables – Pick out your design. For you convenience I put together 4 different sets of possible printable ideas you can use. Join my VIP access Resource Library to get your free printables for this fun project!
