So, for the first time this season, we got up to frost this morning. The Burlington Free Press predicted it yesterday, Facebook and Twitter were full of sightings of snow flurries, and when I got up this morning, it was a chilly 28 degrees.
As most people know, I’m not a winter person. I’m a summer girl. I like the beach. I like walking downtown, hitting the Farmer’s Market. But once the snow starts flying, in the house is where you’ll find me. Probably glued to my computer, goofing off on Facebook or playing games at partybingo.com. So very productive! Maybe I’ll find time to clean my house (that would be a good thing)!
The one thing I do enjoy about winter is the chance to cook a bit more. During the summer, we grill a lot, and that generally falls to Ben. Winter is another story. In fact, I’m starting my winter cooking today. Chili for dinner! Maybe if I get really motivated, I’ll try and share the recipe later. I’m planning on dressing it up a bit more than normal.
It will also give me more time to work on design projects. During the summer, who wants to sit on the computer all day? There’s always so much going on here in the summertime. People are everywhere, there’s some sort of event almost every weekend (and sometimes even during the week!). In the winter, it’s like the whole city disappears. The only time you see them is when they come out to shovel the snow after a storm. Being on the computer is a good thing during the winter!
Having said all of this about winter….I just peeked at The Weather Channel, and it looks like the cold weather will be MIA for a few days, once we get through today. Maybe I should have titled this, “Indian Summer, here we come!”. :)
Stay warm, everyone!
