Veteran’s Day 2006

Last weekend Ben and I went to the Veteran’s Day Parade in Punta Gorda. What a great time it was…just when you think that this country is falling apart, you go to something like this and see that, no, it’s not, this country is doing just fine. A ton of people came out for the parade, which was really great to see. I’ve never been to an actual parade in Florida, I guess I thought it was an “up north” thing. How cool to see that it can be a southern thing, too!

Ben took a ton of pics, and I’m pretty sure he put some up on his photoblog (follow the link, he’s got a ton of good pictures there). I just wanted one, to express my gratitude to all of the veterans that serve us. Digging through his pics, I found what I was looking for. I know I should know the background story, but sadly I don’t…and he’s not here to ask, he’s out enjoying a much deserved Father/Son night at the races. If I wait for the story, I’ll never post the pic, so, here it is…hopefully he can fill us in later.
