Trial date set for Patrick Murphy, accused of killing Coralrose Fullwood
It looks like a trial date has finally been set for the accused killer of six year old Coralrose Fullwood. The trial is set for April 12, 2010. And right now, it looks like Lon Arend (who did such a wonderful job in the Michael King trial) will be prosecuting. I am so glad that this case is finally being tried. May there be justice for Coralrose. God knows she deserves it. And it’s long overdue.
Trial date set for man charged with killing Coralrose Fullwood
11:28 A.M. — A man accused of raping and killing 6-year-old Coralrose Fullwood is scheduled to go to trial in April.
According to information posted on the Sarasota Clerk of Court’s Web site this morning, Patrick Murphy’s trial is scheduled for April 12, 2010. He is also scheduled for a Dec. 2 motions hearing.
At a hearing earlier this week in Sarasota, attorneys discussed the case, saying the investigation is ongoing. Circuit Judge Charles Roberts asked for an update on the case.
Coralrose was kidnapped from her North Port home on Sept. 17, 2006 in the pre-dawn hours. She was found slain in a wooded area later that day, two blocks from her home. She was sexually assaulted and beaten. Police said they found DNA at the crime scene that matched Murphy’s.
Murphy was incarcerated and was days away from being released from jail in Hardee County on unrelated charges when his DNA sample matched the existing DNA in the national data bank. He was charged in August 2008.
The family previously resided in Cape Coral and Coralrose’s siblings still go to school in Lee County.

I pray he gets the death penalty too.
It’s about time, not that I think he deserves a trial, and I do hope he gets the death penalty.
Thank you for keeping up with the Murphy case. It seems to be a sore spot with some people now and we barely hear anything about it anymore.
Your update came up in a goggle search, that is how I found it.
There seems to be more people that were involved in her death that are still not accounted for. The community is still in danger of more tragedy happening. Maybe the trial will bring out more information that will help find them too. Hopefully!!!
