Today’s update on the trial of Michael King
Well, it’s looking more and more like the trial will take place in Sarasota County. After the second day of jury selection, they’re up to 44 potential jurors. The hope is to have 60-65 jurors to pick from by Friday.
Of course, there’s plenty of people who have been excused, either for hardship/health reasons, or because they simply know too much about the case and have already formed an opinion. But, I’ve always been amazed at how many people know nothing about this case, or have the facts completely wrong. So, the fact that it currently looks like a jury will be seated doesn’t surprise me.
Please continue to keep the Lee and Goff families in your prayers. I can’t imagine how hard this must be.
That’s a large jury pool.
