The SHeDAISY Concert~Punta Gorda, Florida

This past Sunday, we were lucky enough to go to the “Concert for the Cure”…a concert where all the proceeds went to breast cancer research, put on by our local country station, KIX Country. This was a new venue for us, the concert was held at the Charlotte County Airport, rather than the Charlotte County Fairgrounds. Personally, we prefer the fairgrounds…more shade…but we still had a great time. SHeDAISY put on a wonderful concert, and I was singing along just about the whole time.

One SHeDAISY song is special to me. It was always make me think of Kathalise “Smoke” Martin, one of my first “online” friends. We spent hours IM-ing, emailing, and chatting on the phone. We laughed, and we cried together. Smoke lost her fight to cancer about a year and a half ago. We had drifted apart by then, altho we would still chat on the computer now and then. This post, and this song, are dedicated to Smoke….who will ALWAYS be #23 (and WAY beyond messing with!) to me. And wouldn’t she be thrilled to have heard the band ask if there were any crazy ladies in the audience?! :grin:
