The joys of getting older

As those of you who are my FaceBook friends know, I’m preparing to move from Florida back up to Vermont. I’ve been down here for over 10 years now. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen my friends and family up there. That got me to thinking about how much I’ve changed over the last 10 years.

In the time I’ve been down here, my hair has started to gray. My eyes are slowly getting crowsfeet. I’ve gained weight and gotten a bit of a tummy that I didn’t used to have. Yeah, I know. It happens. We all get older. That doesn’t mean I have to like it! If I had my way, I’d erase all those signs of aging before going up. Buy stock in Loreal Regenerist (or better yet, one of those nifty surgical procedures that Loreal claims to not quite be able to imitate). :) Get a tummy tuck to get rid of the annoying belly I have developed. After all, the options are out there. Why not take advantage of them if you can afford to do so?

But, as I can’t afford to, I guess everyone is going to get to see my in my aging glory. Hey, I’ve got three teenagers…I’ve earned these wrinkles and this lovely graying hair (ok, so due to a haircoloring mishap, it’s currently sort of purple….that I WILL be getting rid of before going back up North!). Hopefully, everyone else aged right along with me, so I’ll fit right in.

What’s your opinion on stuff like this? Fix it, or live with it? Let me know what you think.
