Some people just don’t know when to shut up

Ok, I posted on the Dixie Chicks and their new song a while back. Most of my readers basically agreed with my opinion, but there were a few who stood up for the Chicks. Which is fine, life would be boring if everyone agreed with me, and I’m always up for some debate. But now they’re running their mouths again, and I don’t see how anyone could agree with what they’re saying.

The Dixie Chicks’ Natalie Maines apologized for disrespecting President George W. Bush during a London concert in 2003. But now, she’s taking it back.

“I don’t feel that way anymore,” she told Time magazine for its issue hitting newsstands Monday. “I don’t feel he is owed any respect whatsoever.”

Good Lord. The man is the PRESIDENT, of course he’s owed respect. Even if you don’t agree with him, or with the way he’s running the country, he’s still the President and is still owed respect.

The Dixie Chicks

They had already lost a huge fan base…and guess what? They don’t care!

For band member Martie Maguire, the controversy was a blessing in disguise.

“I’d rather have a small following of really cool people who get it, who will grow with us as we grow and are fans for life, than people that have us in their five-disc changer with Reba McEntire and Toby Keith,” Maguire said. “We don’t want those kinds of fans. They limit what you can do.”

Well, hey, don’t let us limit what you can do…and don’t expect to get any of our money to help you out with what you can do, either.

What idiots.

What say you?
