This isn’t terribly close to me, probably 40 or 50 miles, but it’s close enough to be scary…and I feel so horribly for all the people it’s affecting.

Last updated on: 4/29/2006 8:48:20 PMLEHIGH ACRES: Four brush fires are burning in Lehigh Acres and threatening homes. Officials say 1,500 to 2,000 acres are on fire and the blaze is moving fast. The Division of Forestry urges those near the fires evacuate.
All available resources are being used to fight the fire including the American Red Cross and Animal Services due to the large number of pets in the area.
They’re saying on the news that at least 10 homes are damaged by fire so far. The pictures are so scary…all those flames so close to houses.

It could so easily be us…everything here is so dry. It’s great to have hot and sunny weather every day…until you see what it can cause.
So say a prayer…for those who are living in the path of these fires…and for the rest of us, that we finally get some rain.

We are finally getting rain in OK. But I remember the fires when I lived in Florida -close those windows!
