Our Denise Amber Lee Foundation float in the North Port Poinsettia Parade
Yes, I’m taking the lazy way out. I’m going to use Peggy’s description and a slideshow I created on SGP (along with one embedded picture) to show y’all my pictures from last night’s parade. Yes, it’s been a long weekend….but a great weekend, too. :)

Hey guys,
We were in the Poinsettia Parade in North Port this Saturday. Our float was absolutely beautiful. Nate and so many volunteers spent gobs and gobs of time on it. It was very tasteful with the theme “Peace On Earth”. There was no Santa, reindeer etc….. Just a beautiful white dove, carrying, it seems, the globe. Nate sat with Noah in the lead trucks bed and waved etc… to the people. I sat up front in the truck. The float followed behind us with walkers handing out candy canes and kids were in seated with the globe. Rick walked with Adam. Nathan insisted on playing happy upbeat music and chose the Chipmunks. This turned out to be a good call because after the oooohing and aaaahing and sadness, it brought an uplift in spirits and smiles. Because we were all smiling.
As we approached you could hear the people oooooooh and aaaaaaah…. they were yelling “we love you, Nate” and blowing kisses at him and Noah. Applauding etc…. Noah and Nate smiled and waved back. The “Merry Christmases” were the most heartfelt I ever experienced. They were all straight in the eye and mouthed to me. It was very moving and the first I felt good about Christmas this year. (We’re making it happy for the boys but…. it’s been rough on us adults).
We won the “most original” award and couldn’t believe it because there were 91 floats. But ours was beautiful and tasteful.
I’ve attached a slideshow. Tammy, a long time now volunteer who has become a super friend and hosts www.amomandherblog.com, which I know some of you have seen, created it from pictures her husband took.
Denise Amber Lee Foundation in the Poinsettia Parade
So many volunteers and so many hours away from their families creating this thing. And most of them we’ve never met before. I just can’t express what’s in my heart and how I feel about these people. They’ve been so totally awesome.
We missed you, Jeanine. {{{HUGS}}} But we know your heart was with us.
Anyhow, enjoy the pics.
I’m not sending Christmas cards this year but wish everyone of you a very blessed Christmas.
Love,
Peggy
I wish ALL of you readers could have been there as well. What a wonderful time.
