Help Holli Baty? Not me.
Ok, I’ve been thinking about what I wanted to post for the past 4 days. On Thursday, I read a statement on the site Help For Holli stating that Kelli Baty had raised the money, via her website (where she asked readers to donate, sending a check made out to her), to bond her sister Holli out of jail. The next day, the story broke in the local news, both in the Charlotte Sun and on NBC-2 Online. The Sun article did not mention how much Kelli had allegedly raised. NBC-2 stated that she had raised $18,000, which was “enough for a down payment”, and that Holli would be out of jail in the next few days. Now, I don’t know about you, but I’ve never heard of a bail bondsman accepting a “down payment”. I also found it hard to believe that in the space of a week or two, perfect strangers would send checks directly to Kelli Baty totaling anything CLOSE to $18,000. Not anyone who did their research, that’s for sure. I mean, I don’t think it’s that easy to raise money on the internet. If so, hey, my donate button is right over there on the far left. Ok, I shouldn’t be sarcastic about this, but I’m just trying to make a point.
Anyway, this all got me to thinking. I decided to look at the news articles, and Kelli’s website, a little closer. As I was goggling, I found a couple of different versions of the story. The most interesting one, to me, was found here. In this article, the amount of money raised has magically jumped to $28,000 (someone likes the number 8, I guess). It also states that this money was raised on the web, via the Help For Holli website, over the course of 3 months.
Ok, so I’m nosy. I decided to look at how long the site had been up, as it surprised me that it would have taken people 3 months to draw my attention to it. Here’s the WhoIs info on the site.

According to the WhoIs info, the site has only been in existance since May 2nd. That’s not even ONE month, never mind three. If Kelli lied about this, and the amount of money that she’s raised (is it $18,000? $28,000? Nothing?), than why should we believe anything else that she says? She didn’t even have the date of Cheyenne’s death right on her site until Lori Eairheart, Cheyenne’s paternal grandmother, pointed it out to her. And even then, it took like 3 or 4 days for her to correct it.
My point is, who would WANT to help an alledged child murderer get out of jail? It doesn’t even make sense to me. I just checked, by the way, and as far as I can see, Holli is still sitting in jail. Which seems to me where she ought to be, if and until she is proven innocent. After all, Cheyenne didn’t get to say that she would much rather be alive, did she?
On a final note, Kelli included the link to Holli’s booking information on her page, but my guess is that (if she really raised any money at all) no one looked at it. So I’m going to make it easy. I won’t make you click, I’ll include it right here. You read it, and tell me if you want to send a check to Kelli to get Holli out of jail. I know I won’t be.

Tammy, good post! I remember this case when you wrote about it some months ago. Awful story!
Two things, though – 1. Normally, you only need 10 percent of your bail to pay to a bail bondsman – he pays the rest, and if you don’t show up, he or she will go and get you!!
2. You mentioned that this probably evil person should stay in jail until she is proven innocent. Tammy – under our legal system, we are all assumed to be innocent until proven guilty. I don’t think we want to have it the other way, really.
Is there a date for this horrid person’s trial yet?
I know she is presumed innocent…I just have such a hard time with this story, probably because Cheyenne’s grandparents and other family members have been commenting and and I’ve corresponded with them via email a few times, and alot of the information I’ve received indicates to me that once she DOES go to trial, she won’t be going anywhere. Also, she had twins while in jail, along with another infant son, who are with the paternal grandparents, who are terrified of what may happen if she bails out. So I guess that clouds my feelings and makes me think that she should just stay in jail. Not right, justice wise, but that’s how I feel.
Holli’s bail amount is $550,000. So they need $55,000 to bail her out. I don’t see how $18,000 will do it. Actually, I find it hard to believe that they raised a penny, but knowing the internet, I could be wrong there. Did you look at Kelli’s site? She contradicts herself all over the place.
She goes to trial in July. If they don’t delay it again.
This tale makes me feel somewhat crazy. I remember reading about her when she was arrested, but assumed her family would allow her to sit in jail until her court date. What happened to the baby’s father?  If I am not mistaken he was aware of how she treated the baby.I agree with your title, “Help Holli Baty, Not Me”– Not me either.DebiÂ

Kudo’s on this post!!! I think your site is wonderful. I still could never believe that a bondsman would put his butt and money on the line for 55,000 let alone 18,000. I can guarantee that that bondsman will probably get a lot of bad rap for doing so Mr. Bondsman if you are reading this or the insurance company kelli talks about signing papers with you will get bad publicity I can only imagine with the tight nit community we live in. Once again Tammy Thank you for allowing us to get out in the open about allot of things. Also Wes Dave Lori Ashley Lill Wes the twins and the whole damn family we as a community are behind you always and forever for our little Cheyenne will live forever in our hearts. Awesome job calling Kelli out! I’m glad I”m not the only one who sees a problem with Kelli’s story.
Just wondering when Holli is getting bonded out. Kelli have you told us another lie sounds kinda funny solicit complete strangers for money to get the monster out of jail has been more than a week. this was your quote we raised all of the money but you told the news papers and tv crews that you only raised 18,000.00 or 28,000.00 not 55,000.00 what is your next lie going to be?????? please tell us as we need something else to laugh about. Kelli when are you ever going to learn? are you going to tell us the name of the bond company? or is it an insurance company as you told us that too? i have learned allot about people and our wonderful community that we live in here, I hope no one that lives here unless you were family gave money to this cause because you would be helping a monster or a group of monsters i should say.
If Kelli believes that Holli is so innocent, then why won’t she let the detectives interview her own son? Is she afraid he will tell the truth about Holli? Why won’t she let her son see his own father? Maybe the Department of Children and Families should investigate Kelli. Holli and Kelli are like two peas in a pod. Something is wrong with those people.
You would be suprised how many bondsman in other states take less then the full 10%. iT SHOULD BE OUTLAWED! Some of these guys have no scruples and don’t care the the premium should be paid in full/ They rather collect a few dollars and open the gates.

Kelli Baty is back in the news, but this time she’s not talking about all the money she raised to bond out her sister Holli, who is the alleged killer of 4 year old Cheyenne Eairheart.Domestic disturbance: On June 2, Kelli Ann Baty, the sister of Holli Baty, who police charged in the homicide of Cheyenne Eairheart, called to report a domestic disturbance at a North Port residence. When police arrived, Baty was not available because, according to the police report, she decided to take a shower after calling police. She later told officers she had been in an argument with her fiance, over e-mails she was sending to another person. The argument was reportedly only verbal, with no evidence of physical abuse.She called the police, and then got in the shower?! She called them because of a verbal argument?! What a waste of taxpayers dollars. Yep, I really want to send my money to this family.As for Holli Baty, as best I can tell from the CCSO site, she’s still sitting in jail. I have to say thank you for making the points you have… i am a close friend of the eairheart family and was w/ cheyenne’s grandnother this weekend. it seems to me that the person that deserves that money is the eairhart family!! The grandparents and cheyenne’s father are now raising 3 babies {cheyenne’s 1 yr old brother and new twin boys)! They have been so strong through a unfathemable time!! I dont get how people can even think about helping this person!!!!

hello, I am just now hearing about this whole thing. I live in Tallahassee now, but I am from Englewood. I just get the feeling that she should stay in jail, yes it is true innocent until proven guilty. Well all the facts are there. Blunt force Truama, How could a child do that to themselves. Not even a grown human can do that to themselves. I just think its wrong. Now she will be telling us that the voices in her head told her to do it like that other crazy lady that killed her kids. The woman needs to be punished…i mean a CHILD was involved. And to the people that sent money to her family….what is wrong with you? it should go to Cheyennes family, not to the crazy lady so she can be free!!!
I think it’s extremely funny how Holli’s sister says how innocent she is, and that Holli loved Cheyenne and never mistreated her, yet Holli turned herself in to the sheriffs office, and in all of the police reports (which are public knowledge) her sister even stated how much Holli hated her, and would say things like ” I don’t know why I have to watch that little bitch, she’s not my kid.” And everyone told the police how much Cheyenne disliked Holli and how she was terrified of her. Cheyenne told her dad all the time how she didn’t like Holli, but she never told him why, it’s cause she use to hit her all the time, Holli admitted to it. But her dad could never catch Holli doing anything, he would even come home early from work or make surprise visits, but he could never catch anything. So he never thought anything of it. I can’t believe McGinnis Bail Bond would bond her out.
JUST WANTED TO KEEP EVERYONE UPDATED!!! Holli Baty Is out of jail and is staying right in Port Charlotte Florida… All I can say is what is wrong with this world and the courts..I mean really.Open your FUC*ING eyes people….

Sure I bail people out but not animals like this. (I apologize to animals for putting her in that class). Florida is way too lenient on criminals especially offender against others and children.
She is in trial as we speak. The jury is deliberating at this moment. Will post more when the verdict is reached
She was convicted of 3rd degree murder with aggravated child abuse yesterday. Sentencing date not set.
She got 25 years.
I was released from Lowell this past week and was in the same park as Holli. She “hangs out”, smokes, plays around, drinks coffee, and has a girlfriend. We call that punishment? Some inmates have jobs and really take life seriously in there. Holli on the other hand, acts as if it is a game. Her “girlfriend” has no idea either. It’s a sad situation that i knew all to well. It disgusts me!
Fuck Holli Lyn and whoever sticks up for her. She is nothin but a white trash piece of crap. She should be dragged behind a car for a mile and then let a firetruck run her over. What she did to that little girl will live on in the minds of the firefighters/medics that tried to save her life, for the rest of their lives, not to mention the dad. The justice system sucks and it is proven in this case. 2nd degree murder. Whatever. I hope she gets her head bashed in while in prison and has crap wiped all over her face too.
