Happy Birthday, Tracy…and the Marine Corps

Today is a special day. It’s my sister Tracy’s birthday….and she’s 40 today! I admit that I oh so evil-ey called and sang Happy Birthday and included something about being old….it’s amazing how easy it is to be mean about it when you’ve already cleared that hurtle. :)

It’s also, as Ben is quick to remind me, the 231st birthday of the Marine Corp (see, Trace, cheer up, you’re YOUNG compared to them!). Ben’s best friend from his Marine days is currently serving in Japan (after two tours in Iraq). Apparently when you’re still IN the Marines, you really celebrate the occasion, as this picture of Master Gunnery Sergeant Dixon and his wife, Mary shows.
