Denise Amber Lee~the Dateline Show

I just finished watching the Dateline program, and am trying to collect myself. I’ve gotten so close to this story, having been blogging it from the beginning, and to watch it all unfold again is just heartbreaking. I’m sitting here trying not to cry. So many chances to save Denise’s life, and they all just slipped away. She tried to hard to save herself, and nothing worked. The system just broke down and failed her.

The one thing it has accomplished is to make me even more focused on doing whatever I can to help Nathan in his fight to try to keep this from happening again. The system needs to change. I really want to help have this change come about.

Nathan, Rick, Peggy, Alecia….any of you that are out there reading….the one thing I wish is that I never had to blog this story. I wish I could have had the chance to know Denise. She was so obviously a beautiful person and a loving mother. It doesn’t seem fair.
