Coralrose~Poem from a Sister
The parents of Coralrose Fullwood have been in the local news a lot lately. Ellen and Dale (currently separated) had a hearing yesterday regarding visitation with their children. Ellen was granted unsupervised visitation, Dale, only supervised visitation. The full story can be found here.
But…with all the focus on the custody case and Dale’s upcoming trial for child pornography, sometimes I think we all lose sight of something here. That being, a beautiful little girl died. And not only that, but she left behind 6 siblings, 4 of whom were living in the house with her when she was abducted and killed. Four kids, all 12 and under, who lost a sister, along with having their family torn apart. Four kids who no doubt don’t know what is going on.
Recently, a local paper printed a poem that Aleena Fullwood, age 12, wrote. It’s beautiful…and yet so sad. I wanted to share it with y’all. Here it is, posted with permission from Doreen VanderWoude, grandmother of Corolrose and Aleena Fullwood (the younger kids are currently lving with Doreen and her husband Saul, at least until the custody case is figured out). Please take the time to read it, and to think about what Aleena is saying…and keep this family in your prayers.
All the TimeBecause I am depressing,
I am always suppressing,
All of my feelings inside. After the death of my sister,
I will always miss her,
And my feelings will never subside. All the time I am crying,
And none of my tears are drying,
Because new problems arise. My parents are always leaving,
Like all the days to come are weaving,
The next day’s great surprise. In all the days to come,
Coral is only one,
That I will always love. Her free butterfly like spirit,
And I can always feel it,
Like a great, white dove.Aleena Fullwood, age 12
