Coralrose Fullwood fought her attacker

The fact that they caught the man behind the kidnapping and murder of Coralrose Fullwood made me feel good. The details now coming out in the case make me feel sick. Coralrose was six years old. There is no way in hell she should have gone through what she did. And to know that she fought back….it just makes me want to cry. I just hope that the State has the evidence they need to make sure that her killer never sees the light of day again.

Report: North Port girl fought attacker

NORTH PORT: A murdered North Port girl appears to have fought with her attacker before she died, according to recently-released documents.

The report notes DNA was found under the fingernails of Coralrose Fullwood.

The 6-year-old was found dead near her home in September 2006.

The report also shows that semen was found in her mouth and on the comforter she was wrapped in.

Investigators ran the evidence through an FBI database.

Last month they got a match: Patrick Murphy.

Murphy was already serving time in a Florida prison and was arrested for the girl’s murder.

Friday, he was formally charged with premeditated murder, sexual assault and kidnapping.

Police conducted a massive search for the girl after her father reported her missing in the morning hours of September 17, 2006.

A neighbor found the girl’s body a few hours later in a wooded area not far from the Fullwood home.
