I have to stop and wonder, if WWII were fought under the same circumstances as we face today, would we have won? Would we possess the national will to go ahead?

How about after D-Day?

As for Cindy claiming her son was an innocent tool, she denigrates his memory. I hope my children are mature enough to make their own decisions and brave enough to stand by them!

And, should any of them choose to enter the military, I will stand proudly by as they take that same oath that their grandfather, and their father, took.

Hi Dena,

Of course I would not consider you a nutcase. You misunderstand my post. I do feel terribly Cindy Sheehan that she lost her son. I just don’t agree with the way she’s dealing with it. To me, saying that she is not going to pay her taxes because she lost her son….I just don’t really see the connection. And she has already met with the president once. What about the other parents out there who lost their children and have not met with President Bush? I don’t see all of them camping out in Crawford.

Of course, this is just my opinion. As your opinion is YOUR opinion….and I respect your opinion. I just don’t agree with it.

I oppose the war, and if my son died in the war, I’m sure you’d consider me a nutcase too. I can’t imagine the grief that woman is experiencing. In fact, I will likely attend the next gathering in our area, and show my support for Cindy.

I oppose the war. I also oppose Cindy Sheehan. I feel for her. It must be awful to loose a child in this way, but I feel she has minimized his job and the job that the men and women are doing over there. Pull out now? What do we say to the parents, husbands and wives of those that have died? If it’s started, just finish the damn thing and at least let the lives that were lost be not in vain. And frankly, what war protester has a publicist telling her how to hold signs, what to say, who to talk to and how to breath. There is a right way and a wrong way to do things. The only right thing she did was go home to her ailing mother and continue with the living.

Mother Sheehan would most likely apologize to President For Life Hussein for upsetting his Karma and offer to dust his palace.
I do not feel sorry for her in the least, I feel she has long forgotten her son, who loved and died for his country. How do I know he loved his country? He volunteered – he took an Oath – he didn’t have to and he did this knowing a war was taking place in two countries.
You know, one of these years, no one is going to want to fight and defend this country, we’ll all be selfish and care only about ourselves. We’ll all want to be appeasers and we’ll never stop appeasing, hoping it’s the other guy who is harmed by people intent on destroying you and me. I’ve seen people like that all my life, I’ve seen people like her son too; hope we don’t run out of “him”.

There was a letter from an Iraqi civilian which can be found at http://iraqthemodel.blogspot.com entitled “A message to Cindy Sheehan”, dated August 12th. It was very sensitive to Cindy’s cause while at the same time reminding her of the suffering of the Iraqi people at Saddam’s hands.

As clever as that post was it didn’t change my mind. I feel for Ms. Sheehan as I’m sure many do. She obviously still needs to come to terms with her grief. It seems much more a cry for personal attention than a protest against the war. But that is her right, as an American.
