A miracle in New York today
I have to admit, when I was at work and saw the headline on Fox News that a plane had crashed into the Hudson River, the first thing I said was, “oh no”. I assumed the worst, that if a plane had gone into the river in the middle of the winter, that probably no one could have survived. How wonderful to read that EVERYONE survived! Yes, there are some injuries, but so far, it sounds pretty minor…some broken bones, etc. But not nearly what you would expect from such an event.
Fox News is identifying the pilot of the plane as Chesley B. Sullenburger III — a former Air Force flight leader and training officer who flew F-4s from 1973 to 1980. What a hero this man is! I don’t think enough can be said about what he did to keep everyone safe…and alive.
Yep, I’d say we had a miracle today.

I love your beach picture (makes me homesick) and your entry. It feels like a miracle but even more….it is an amazingly wonderful example of God’s sovereignty–how he pulls together all these unrelated events at just the right moment — if that particular pilot had not been on that flight–well seasoned vet with tremendous safety knowledge and experience…i wonder how different the ending would have been. I love it when Americans come together around something like this…so much better than all the negativity that the media wants from us.
It’s so nice to hear something positive out of a negative. Great pilot. I hesitate saying it was “god’s miracle,” etc,,, because what about all the other tragedies? god wasn’t with them? Yes it was a wonderful miracle. I am happy these people made it home to their families and their lives were spared.
Chesley B Sullenburger, you are the “Miracle” . The potential for so many things to go wrong was ever present. You will and your crew will be forever remembered for your heroics. The world was watching and in awe of what transpired yesterday on Jan 15,’08. I am so happy for everyone who made out to safety with their loved ones….and home to their loved ones!!
Good to know not everything is a disaster
